چکیده
Abstract This study presents a new simple approach to detect the coastline changes due construction of man-made structures. The uses low-pass filter reduce speckles errors and Otsu thresholding method create binary image. Then, closing morphological operation was conducted improve In final step, canny edge detection is used for delineation. coastlines analysis done by using Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS). general, processing steps this semi-automatic processes, it does not require manual digitization extract coastline. tested two independent synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite images, i.e., ALOS-1 Sentinel-1 SAR data. results show that produced better than other well-known methods. detects clearly structure its impact coastal zone, abrasion accretion. area located in Pengambengan Port, Jembrana Regency, Bali, Indonesia. addition, result can be as evaluation parameters future development port or re-design present

Tidal Wetland Monitoring Using Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar
Tidal wetlands including intertidal flats are highly productive and have dynamic and diverse ecosystems. Despite the importance of the tidal flats and associated coastal habitats, theses areas are at risk due to high development pressure, such as reclamation and marine pollution. Because of their poor accessibility, remote sensing techniques are the most effective tool for tidal flat observatio...
متن کاملThe Object Detection Efficiency in Synthetic Aperture Radar Systems
The main purpose of this paper is to develop the method of characteristic functions for calculating the detection characteristics in the case of the object surrounded by rough surfaces. This method is to be implemented in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems using optimal resolution algorithms. By applying the specified technique, the expressions have been obtained for the false alarm and cor...
متن کاملSynthetic Aperture Radar for oil spill monitoring: a brief review
In this paper, a review of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)-based techniques, for oil slick at sea observation is proposed, focusing in particular on polarimetric approaches. In fact, marine oil pollution monitoring is a topic of great applicative and scientific relevance and in such a context, among all remote sensing sensors, SAR represents a fundamental tool due to its almost all-weather and a...

متن کاملSynthetic aperture radar interferometry
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a coherent active microwave imaging method. In remote sensing it is used for mapping the scattering properties of the Earth’s surface in the respective wavelength domain. Many physical and geometric parameters of the imaged scene contribute to the grey value of a SAR image pixel. Scene inversion suffers from this high ambiguity and requires SAR data taken at di...
